Introduction

1997年7月1日，中華人民共和國開始對香港行使主權，並成立香港特別行政區；中央人民政府贈送了特區政府一座名為「永遠盛開的紫荊花」的貼金銅雕。此雕塑安放在新落成的會議展覽中心新翼，在1997年7月1日早上由時任行政長官董建華及國務院副總理錢其琛主持揭幕式。雕塑寓意香港永遠繁榮昌盛；銅雕高6米，重70噸，以青銅鑄造，表面舖以金箔，以紅色花崗岩作底座。基座圓柱方底，寓意九州方圓，刻有長城圖案，象徵中國懷抱香港。

一般升旗儀式
每天上午7:50至8:03（每月第一日除外）
由身穿禮服的警員負責主持升旗儀式，現場播放國歌。逢每月第二個星期日，儀式由不同的青年制服團體負責。

加強內容升旗禮
每月第一日上午7:45至8:13
由身穿全套禮服的警員主持升旗禮，包括配備長槍的槍隊成員；警察銀樂隊同場演奏國歌及背景音樂，警察風笛隊亦會於儀式後進行10分鐘表演。

*升旗禮有可能因天氣惡劣而取消。有關取消升旗禮的消息會於上午7:00至8:00由電台廣播。
