Vocational Rehabilitation & Retraining Centre
The "Occupational Rehabilitation and Retraining Center" aims to provide comprehensive occupational rehabilitation services for patients with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses to enhance their abilities, confidence and positive attitudes.

The Occupational Rehabilitation and Retraining Center was established in 1994 to provide employment training and employment counseling to people who were disabled due to illness or accidents so that they can resume work. The center improves their skills through personal support and work service groups, and builds their positive attitudes. They will also be invited to participate in volunteer services to improve their work abilities.

Central services include:

1. Courses of the Employees Retraining Board
Courses sponsored by the Employees Retraining Board to train participants in job and employment skills. Most of the courses are job deduction courses. Participants will receive subsidies when they attend classes. After completing the courses, participants will also be assisted in finding jobs.

2. Employment Counselling Service
Funded by the Social Welfare Department, including "Assisted Employment Service" and "Sunshine Road Training Program".

3. Adult Education Courses
Funded by the Labor and Welfare Bureau, there are courses to help participants improve their job search and life skills.

4. Graduation Reunion and Volunteer Group
Organize the ERB course graduates into class reunions and encourage them to join volunteer groups to promote mutual assistance among members and enhance their chances of re-entering social work.

Employees Retraining Board Course

Including "Employment Link Course" and "General Skills Training Course". The former is a full-time course designed according to the needs of a certain industry. It also includes employment counseling follow-up services. If the attendance rate of the course reaches the required standard, the course allowance will be issued. The latter is a half-time course that enhances the basic skills of employment.

course features

1. All courses do not need to pay tuition fees, and there is a training allowance for employment-linked courses (that is, courses with employment service follow-up)
2. One person, one computer in the computer class
3. Each course teaching instructor has 5 or more years of teaching or supervision experience
4. The computer class arranges experienced volunteers to guide students in class study and homework
5. After the class, arrange internships (such as clerical, design, retail internships, etc.) and join various volunteer teams to continue to train their skills
6. Colleagues with rich occupational rehabilitation work experience, follow up personal employment services and plan employment plans
7. During training and after graduation, regularly arrange group gatherings and old student gatherings to broaden students' social and peer support network
8. Use the Internet and social network platforms to deliver the latest employment information

Employment Counseling Service

Services are funded by the Social Welfare Department, including "Assisted Employment Service" and "Sunshine Road Training Program"

Service Features

1. The social worker will follow up the employment situation personally, including regular telephone contact, face-to-face meetings, job introduction, job search training, employment consultation, post-employment follow-up, emotional counseling, support service referrals, etc.
2. Develop a suitable personal employment plan according to the employment needs of each participant
3. Regularly organize psychosocial groups (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology groups, etc.) to strengthen participants' adaptability in finding jobs and the workplace environment, and broaden the peer network of participants
4. During the service period, arrange volunteer work (such as peer support, organizing activities, homework guidance, etc.) according to the wishes and strengths of the participants, so that the participants can give full play to their strengths
5. Use the Internet and social network platforms to deliver the latest employment information

Adult Education Course

course features

1. One person, one computer in the computer class
2. Each class tutor has many years of teaching or supervision experience
3. The computer class arranges experienced volunteers to guide students in class study and homework
4. Soft skills courses (such as job search skills training, high-quality customer service, etc.) use games, role-playing, case studies and other teaching modes to deepen students' understanding of the course content
5. Courses include various computer software, conversation, customer service, job search skills and bookkeeping, etc.

Old Student Association and Volunteer Group
The center organizes service users and old students to set up old student associations and volunteer groups. Through volunteer services and old student activities, the skills and personal expertise learned by the volunteers in the center are used to achieve the purpose of helping others to help themselves and giving back to the community. What's more, through volunteer services, they can improve their personal abilities, increase their competitiveness in the job market, and have a greater opportunity to re-enter the job market.

Volunteer Service

Established the Hand-in-Hand Encouragement Association
A self-help organization composed of center users and former students regularly organizes member activities and peer support services to assist members facing employment difficulties.
Photography Volunteer Team
Regular photography activities are held to exchange photography techniques; at the same time, they will also participate in shooting and photography work inside and outside the organization, so as to improve technology and serve the community in need
Publishing team
Assist the center to publish newsletters and assist self-help organizations to attend the newsletter, practice interviewing, writing, editing, and typesetting skills.
