The Association began to provide rehabilitation services in 1977, was registered as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance the following year, and became a member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 1980.

At present, there are more than 40 service units of this association, which provide services to nearly 3,600 people with disabilities each year, including persons with intellectual disabilities, autistic persons, mentally recovered persons and physically handicapped persons.

Over the years, the Association has implemented the service spirit of "seeking guidance", bravely innovates, and actively responds to the changing needs of people with disabilities, assisting them to realize their potential and actively integrate into society.

Our core services include: residential services, day training services, vocational rehabilitation and development services, community mental rehabilitation services, services for people with autism and developmental disabilities, community support services for people with disabilities, etc. In addition, the association strives to promote community integration.

In 2004, it was invited and authorized by the US headquarters of "Best Buddies International" to exclusively promote the "Best Buddies" campaign in Hong Kong. There are hundreds of them every year. Established one-on-one friendships between the planned community members and the mentally disabled
