Introduction

Kadoorie Farm is located on the northern slope and foothills of Da Mo Mountain. It is surrounded by mountains and forests. There are valleys and clear streams in the farm. There are also many vegetable gardens and terraced farms. It is a large farm that integrates sightseeing and nature education. Kadoorie Farm was established in 1956 by the Kadoorie brothers. It was originally designed to help poor farmers in Hong Kong, but now it is dedicated to nature conservation.

Kadoorie Farm is mainly divided into two areas: uphill and downhill. Those who like pastoral life can go for a walk in Shangshan District. There are nine ecological trails here, allowing you to travel between fields, mountains and forests, such as arbor trails, butterfly trails and orchard trails. If you like animals or insects, you must not miss the Xiashan District, because there are many farmhouses and zoos where you can see butterflies, wild boars, black-eared kites, parrots and owls.

Accessibility description

There are only a few barrier-free facilities on the farm. Due to the steep and narrow roads in the park, wheelchair users are not allowed to visit the farm in wheelchairs. People with wheelchairs/persons with reduced mobility need to pay attention. The farm has a lot of stairs, and the roads up and down the mountain are quite narrow and steep.

The farm’s shuttle bus cannot go directly to the summit of Guanyin Mountain, but tourists using wheelchairs can drive their own private cars or be picked up by private cars to the summit of Guanyin Mountain if they have been arranged in advance and approved by the executive director. Any individual or group tourists who wish to arrange a specially designed vehicle for the disabled to pick up wheelchair users to visit the farm, please submit a written application in advance. After approval, the relevant vehicle can drive within the farm.
