Introduction

The ancient temple of Tianhou at Tamen, built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, has a history of nearly 400 years. Tap Mun is a small island. In the past, residents mostly fished for a living. Tin Hau can protect fishermen from going out to sea. Therefore, Tin Hau Temple is extremely important to the residents of Tap Mun. Legend has it that the Tin Hau Temple was built on a piece of spiritual stone. Before the temple was built, this spiritual stone could accurately predict typhoons. The local residents believed that it was the manifestation of the Tin Hau Empress, and the Tin Hau Temple has since been rooted here.
